L’audit informatique consiste en l’établissement d’un diagnostic par un expert indépendant pour établir une « photographie » à un moment précis de l’état de votre parc informatique.

Photographie / État du parc informatique
En pratique, l’auditeur se rend sur place et effectue une étude détaillée de chaque ordinateur, serveur et composant annexe de votre parc informatique (router, modem, câblage, imprimante, …). Généralement, l’audit informatique est réalisé de manière post-installation. C’est-à-dire lorsque des problèmes sont rencontrés. Il est rare qu’il soit réalisé de manière préventive. Ce qui est regrettable car le coût des corrections est souvent supérieur après l’installation.
Les étapes :
Définir avec vous ce que vous attendez de l’audit. Faudra-t-il mener un audit de sécurité, un audit global, un audit spécifique sur un point particulier, un audit post ou pré-installation.
Un rendez-vous est fixé sur place. Il est important, dans un audit global, de faire l’étude de chaque ordinateur concerné mais également de discuter avec son utilisateur pour connaître ses besoins.
Etablissement du rapport remis dans un délais prédéfini. Ce rapport expliquera les limites et faiblesses constatées et proposera alors les solutions à mettre en place.

Certains éléments d’un ordinateur peuvent ne pas être audités pour des raisons de non-communication d’informations suffisantes. Par exemple, si nous ne possédons pas le mot de passe administrateur d’un ordinateur, il ne nous est impossible d’obtenir toutes les informations sur celui-ci. Ceci ne justifie pas en soi une diminution du coût de l’audit.
